Emg 81/85, Adding another battery

Has anyone added another battery to their EMG's? Ive heard that 18 volts sounds alot better than 9 out of the EMGs

Im considering doing this and wanted to research it more

This is what it looks like - a normall PP3 battery on the right and the 24 volt power pack on the left. As you can see it has normal battery connections and simply fits in the battery cavity. The ebay seller who sells these is called pauln4813

Ive never heard of a nicad 12volt battery, can you buy them everywhere?
