Yes Seal is!

I must say I forgot about Maiden (not sure why, or how?!)

Maiden is one of the all time greats! I remember as a kid watching the Live after Death video and I thought that was the best of the best!

Man the feeling and memory that video instilled in me about being a rock star when I grew up was quite grandios! I still have the dreams today of playing on stage just like Maiden!! Love it! smile.gif

Some of my first bands were Styx, Rush and Kansas. Still favourites...

The scary part of this is; it's saying a lot about my age.... :D

When I was a kid I use to dig through my uncles record (yes Record) collection...he would get so mad. The first bands I heard were Led Zeppelin, AC DC, The Rolling Stones, Elton John and Fleetwood Mac. Who I still love today.

But I'd have to say Billy Idol was probably my first love. His was the first music I found on my own. White Wedding and Rebel Yell are still on my favorite songs list. I was probably about 6 I guess.

For me, it was actually Grass Roots...than came along Steppenwolf, the Stones, Zeppelin, Mountain, Lynyrd Skynrd, Thin Lizzy, UFO, Scorpions...than grunge came along with Colbain, and it ruined it for me. Thanks be praised...Ratt, Alice in Chains, just to name a couple, showed up, and renewed my faith that guitar players were still around.

Does anyone remember the one hit bands? How about Bullet Boys with the song "smooth Up In You" to start this off.

First band I really dug was probably The Cars, but the one that sealed the deal was early VH, Fair Warning is the best VH album ever.

Well folks, I'd have to say Guns and Roses. I was 8 or 9, and every time November Rain came on MTV I was hypnotized for about 9 minutes haha. After that I wanted to play guitar for 5 years before I got one (damn cheap parents) haha

The 1st band I got into was Ministy. I heard their album Psalm 69 when I was about 7 and thought it was bloody awesome... but then for a few years I just completely stopped listening to music for some reason and then when I was about 9 or 10 I got into bands like Soilwork, Tool, Slipknot and Korn and Slayer.

I hate Slipknot and Korn now though... and I think Slayer are just average.

The first bands were Roxette and Metallica. blink.gif

Years later I discovered Tony Macalpine, Greg Howe, Steve Morse (etc) - this definately changed my "direction".

First real band i really liked was Sum 41.. i still don't really mind them, they're just not my thing anymore. My first classic rock i really liked was def leppard then i went around the punk scene like Blink 182, NoFx, Penny Wise, from there i went to guys like stone temple pilots and into godsmack which lead into my true love of today which is metal smile.gif

The first thing I really started digging was probably Nordman, a swedish singer, he was huge in Sweden when I was like 7 years old. I stopped liking him when I heard he went to prison (yeah, I was stupid tongue.gif)

After that, I was in the darkness, listening to anything the radio would supply me with, untill I discovered a great hip hop group, Looptroop. I still consider hip hop a great genre, so I´m still in "the darkness", but I suspect that anyone who says hip hop isn´t music has just heard the horrible mtv rappers like Snoop Dogg, Xzibit, 50 cent, etc. (I´m not saying everybody should like hip hop, just accept it as a musical genre worth as much as anything)

With that being said, I still don´t listen that much to hip hop, just.. I feel the urge to defent the genre sometimes biggrin.gif
