Hey man. Take it easy. I've been playing "since forever" and there has been ups and downs. Phases with quick evolution and phases where I forgot lots of stuff.
From what you told, I think there are other things that are reflecting on your guitar playing. If you are stressed, that reflects in all the other things of your life. I've been like that 2 years ago. That can be the reason you feel like you are getting worse in guitar. Playing guitar shall be your way of resting from a demanding day by day life and not another burden. If you look at guitar practice and playing guitar as another obligation, you will feel you are not going anywhere, and you start losing your passion. We all know that becoming a guitar hero requires some dedication and discipline, but it requires passion much more than that. There is no point in forcing yourself into boring exercises if you start losing interest after that. On the contrary, simply play things you enjoy. Meet some friends and play some simple songs on acoustic. Simple things like that can make you much happier than 2 hours of metronome exercise. My advice is that you try to identify the real source(s) of the problem and work on them. The way you feel about your guitar playing is probably more of symptom than the reason. And then ask help from people around you. The doctors, of course, but also your friends, family...
