Hi all,

I'm at the point where I'm ready to trade in my renter and pick up an actual classical guitar. Looking to get one that sounds good, intermediate level, and is made somewhere reliable where the guys who make the guitars aren't paid slave labour wages. Pretty much knocks out Cort and it's Korean affiliates. I'm thinking La Patrie or Taylor (both North American)? Thoughts? I live in Ontario, Canada, so would like to buy North American to keep it relatively 'local'.

Peace

Are you looking for small time luthiers or mass produced?

I don't have much experience with acoustics but there is a guy named Frank who lives about an hour away from me in Pennsylvania.

Finocchio Guitarworks is the name, he makes some beautiful acoustics.

I know it's not local, but Cole Clark in Australia definitely fit in as an ethical builder - Aussie labour rates, sustainable timber, that kind of stuff.
