hey guys, i went to a garage sale and got this for $40

might be fake, but it has high quality parts and electronics in it...sounds great and played great...i never owned a strat so this is pretty cool....i gonna replace pick ups maybe, and maybe the neck, see if i can find one that fits that is thinner

is that possible btw? will a thinner neck fit as long as its a strat neck?

anyways this one is near mint, enjoy!!

Marc,
I don't know if you are into graphite necks....but this is the thinnest neck you will ever play. Thinner than an Ibanez wizard even.

Nice find man, even if it is a fake. Heck, you can't buy a toy Hanna Montana guitar for 40 bucks..

I would of bought it. Maybe I should start shopping in other peoples garages with the wife once in a while. She always wants me to stop the car at every sign.

Hmmm....

The body is unusual, looks like a flamed top with an aftermarket pickguard? The bridge is a six point which points to a mexican for my money, the plates on the back saying custom Shop can be bought seperatley so thats not really an indication, is that a roller nut on there too? Weird!

I think its a tweaked Mexi, but the serial number will tell you for sure!

That's an after-market neck with a 'Fender' decal added (which is also why there's no Serial Number up there), I recognise that little Logo on the back of the Headstock but can't recall which company it is!! You're right about that Neck Plate being a replacement one!
Having said that, for $40 you can't go wrong anyway!!! Next time you replace the strings unscrew the neck and see if there's any markings in the Neck Socket, or maybe underneath the Pickguard!!!! You should be able to find a 'thinner' replacement neck from companies like Warmoth, Mightymite, Lindo etc! There are plenty of Aftermarket Parts suppliers!!!

40$?? That's a steal man, even if it is a fake. Have fun with it, and perhaps you can take it to some strat expert to check it out, and really see where this guitar comes from.
