Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi Carlos!

From what I see, you have started to pay more care to the details of the lesson. That's a really good thing.

Bending - comparing with your previous takes, I notice a huge improvement. The bends from 0:19 and 1:00 don't reach the perfect pitch. Anyway, it's obvious that you worked to get better at hitting the correct pitch and I like the result.

0:23 - after the long vibrato from the F# note (D string), you should mute the strings before starting the PM lick. Be careful because you have some spots where you tend to play some notes longer than you should.

0:38 - when you play the B note for the second time, you should do a very audible and wider vibrato. In this way, you will not make the lick sound square.

0:40 - F# note from the G string. This note should be played a little shorter. That's why Guido has enough time to make that long and a little lazy slide. Unfortunately, you let the F# note last longer and you weren't able to add the same cool slide.

0:44 - be careful when you mute the strings with your left hand to not make unwanted sounds. Touch the strings more gently with your ring finger.

0:19; 0:48; 0:53; 1:00 - you should not do raking in these spots.

0:56- 0:59 - the double stop lick doesn't sound perfect yet. This part requires an additional work because you need to learn to use the bar in a proper way. You do not succeeded in achieving that bouncing effect like Guido and also, when you vibrate with the bar, make this be audible. Hold the bar in your hand much firmer. Also, try to play the slides more clearly and be careful because you should also add vibrato (left hand).

What I personally don't like in your take is the fact that you use a random picking direction. At your level of playing, each detail counts. To achieve the smoothness and feel of the original take, you should learn every single pick stroke because it creates tension points.

This is still an enjoyable take so... you get a 7 from me.

I agree with Monica - this is getting very good mate 😍

This also means I will comment on general things that are harder to fix - basically stuff I am personally always trying to improve year after year..!

* Bending and vibrato - this is the major thing that differentiates your playing from Guido's. Your vibrato is often hesitant and bending pitch accuracy needs more work. Another way to describe it would be that Guido's command of these techniques is a display of authority. He immediately shows he is control when confronted with a sustained note.

* Timing / micro timing - I would say that for a good 40% of the trickier licks here you are doing well. This really helps convey a professional impression.

So if you could nail timing and vibrato...we'd be dealing with a pro 😎

Keep up the amazing work 👊

Hello Elchals!

I think you do a very good job with this lesson. The phrases combine different rhythms and in general you manage to stay tight most of the time.

The 3 elements you need to pay attention to are the bending, the vibrato and the articulation of some notes in the phrases.

Generally, your bending isn't quite consistent. Some of them don't hit the right note (like the first two), while others do hit but are inconclusive on the note or vibrato you add afterwards.

I feel like the licks still require too much concentration, so you can't focus on the details. So it's best to incorporate this lesson into your daily practice and combine it with some extra work on your bending and vibrato.

I recommend the exercises in this lesson to work on both of these techniques: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Left-H...ending-Vibrato/

So, my friend, that's it, keep up the good work!
