Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Slayer Style (Beginner) by Lian Gerbino

My first REC attempt at GMC. I still have to sort out some technical issues (how to sync video and audio recording) but over all I think it's one of my better shots. What do you guys think about it? Greetings, Robert

Hi Robert! Welcome to the site and congrats on your first REC take! The overall quality is very good! The thing to improve on your take is timing. Your riffing is not precise, mostly when you play the higher notes of the riffs, the ones that aren't done with palm muting. That's were you loss the tempo, an maybe it's because you need some Alternate Picking work over metronome. My suggestion is to take the first and second section of riffs and practice it slower with metronome until you can play it tight and then start increasing the tempo until you reach the normal tempo of this lesson.

Hey Rob, congrats on your first REC!

I agree with Gabe and as an additional observation - I would lift the guitar a bit, because your right hand looks a bit uncomfortable. I know it's cool to swing the axe low, but having control and comfort is much more important smile.gif

Deal?

Keep rocking!

Cosmin

Wellcome at REC section Robert! smile.gif It's great You decided to share Your playing with us smile.gif Don't want to copy/paste what guys already wrote. I can only suggest to experiment with the pick and wrist angle. Seems like the pick stucks between strings while You play mentioned, higher notes. Also You my try to play those notes a bit harder - more confident and with wider movement. Picking direction is properly assigned to each note so this is not a problem. And...to be clear - we're talking about little flaws because there are no big mistakes in Your take. Congratulations - great job! anyway consider the advices and please try to do second take! smile.gif
