Your precision is SPOT ON as it your timing!! Also, and most importantly, your MUTE!! It's LOCKED to the trem and your using your thumb/finger to move the pick. This is something that some folks just can't do. Your doing it great!! The benefit of playing like this is that you eliminate string noise and you get a nice muted crisp tone on each note and each one is kept separate. That way the notes don't bleed in to each other. it's that bleeding, caused by improper muting, that makes notes sound slurred together and imprecise which is the enemy of shredding. As a bonus your PINKY is in great shape!!! Your hand stays strong and doesn't fade through repetition. Your strikes are clean and your fretting is strong. I'm impressed. You are more than ready for the crazy bits heading your way!!!! Congrats Soldier you just... LEVELED UP!!!! Onward!!!!! The first one is more than plenty to krush this mission. I like the aggressive style on the second pass. it looses a bit of precision but it's good to push the envelope as that is where progress happens. The flat fifth/blues note in this one is often a place where peoples fingers get stuck but not you!! This is a modified blues scale lick with all my fave extra notes put in. I love this lick for working on precision and as a solo lick!!! It's a great way to run a pentatonic scale up and down. Works wonders as a solo lick.
