I practice everything alternate picking, unless stated. And when I play I seem to go with feeling more than technique? I do exactly the same Even when I'm playing I usually use alternate but if I analyse what I've done I find myself using much more. I think there's nothing wrong with that as long as you're happy with your sound. -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

The thing is in sound and in personal preferences of course.
Economy can never sound that punchy like AP does, I'm talking about crossing strings tho cause everything else is actually AP in both options. How to decide? You should better ask you self what is it that you're trying to accomplish. Are you trying to make things easier for yourself OR to make different sound with certain lick? And at the end of the day the best possible thing is to be able to play same lick in many different ways so you could REALLY have a possibility to decide. -------------------- Youtube

It's best to have all the options available. -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE
