Jon Schaffer has been one of my single greatest influences since I was 13 years old. Iced Earth is pretty much unmatched in terms of sheer passion and brutality.

Jon Schaffer, riff king indeed! smile.gif
Although I was only introduced to Iced Earth in the past year (thank you Brett), they have quickly become one of my favorite bands because of Jon's incredible song writing! biggrin.gif

Jon Schaffer is truly one of the greatest riff makers ever. He's silly fast on those rhythm parts. I usually only listen to "Horror Show" and "Dark Saga". Do you have any recommendations for some more Iced Earth listening for me?

I really like "Something Wicked This Way Comes". Though some don't.

I'm also a big fan of the Ripper stuff. Glorious Burden and Framing Armageddon.

I've never paid too much attention to Iced Earth but they have some nice trash riffs like Metallica in it's good time.

I caught them 2x last year.

I was at Barlow's return to the band in Chicago on 5/2.

Saw them on the Horror Show and Glorious Burden tours too.

No they really don't do that much instrumental stuff tongue.gif Thats just clips from their tracks most of which have vocals. Their last two vocalists ( Matt Barlow and Ripper Owens) are both awesome in my opinion!
