I don't doubt it - take any nationality (Syrian, British, Mongolian, Swedish etc) - segregate people and give them tough conditions, and you will see hate and violence sooner or later. We've seen it happen all over the world countless of times.

However this does not relate to helping innocent families running for their lives.

Also one should be very careful about attributing general characteristics to a culture or nationality. We have done it in the past, and it has resulted in horrible and meaningless tragedies. We're all humans belonging to the same species, and we're more or less the result of our environment.
