Has he looked into active pickups?

yeah, we did look into some, but, for the band we love passive stuff, you know, the good old jazz bass into ampeg tone.

the ones he has on the jazz are the stock ones, we has an american highway one bass, and dude, i'm very impressed with the quality of the wood, the action and the tone, but i feel like the pickups are just not THAT good, we need more mojo.

I don't know how this bass has been recorded but I prefer when the bass sounds fatter. However this one sound very defined and that's very good for a bass sound.

It's a bit thin and hollow, for me! I also like a full depth bass sound!

yeah i feel the same, but the bass was recorded with the vocal mic, so i think that's why is so thin, on the other hand i LOVE the definition.

Yeah, the sound is thin, but not sure what amps they've been using. Acoustic or Ampeg stack would bring this beast of the bass to life, I'm sure of that smile.gif
