Fretting Bass Strings With Thumb Lesson

Those long slides with the thumb are tearing up the inside of my thumb. I'm currently playing a MexiStrat.

Will my thumb develop callouses there are is a fret dressing more in order?

Hey mate, sorry to hear that. What is the problem exactly? Do frets cause this or strings or fingerboard edge? Possibly you can slide with less pressure, just take it easy. After a while the skin will be hardened as well.
