Hi guys,

My rig currently consists of an Orange Tiny Terror amp and PPC112 cab, and also a Roland MicroCube. I have recently been getting into playing more metal type stuff; Tool and Metallica; and the Orange's overdrive does not quite get into that territory and the Cube is OK (for its size) but is of course a bit small scale. I want something that produces a real dark chugging sound on palm muted riffs. I am looking for something that will give out good tone at home practice levels. I am still a beginner.

So recomendations pls, either for a low wattage high gain metal combo or head, or for a metal pedal to go with the Tiny Terror:) Price limit for the amp should be about 1000€. I had been thinking about the Randall RM20 head with some Mesa like preamp module, or maybe Orange Rocker 30 (not sure if this really does go all the way to 11), or even Peavey 6505 (this is 100 watt head and I assume that it will get no where near its potential in home practice scenario....). On pedal front I had been thinking about the EH Metal Muff with Top Boost....

My opportunity to audition is very limited.

Thx,
