They are probably the most overlooked component for the guitar setup, but...

Do guitar cables make a big difference in the quality of tone?

I have changed over to using 4 Cable setup for my Pod HD500 and would like are to at least replace two of my temp cables with new ones.

I say it's a marketing trick to a big extent. However, the answer to question is : yes, cables can make a difference. However, other parts of the signal chain can make even greater difference, so unless you're using top notch boutique components, and need your cables to work flawlessly for years - there is no need for better ones.

I'm against cheap cables tho, they can break or loose contact. That is one of the worst nightmares on stage. smile.gif
