Ohh,great sounding instrument ! I tried to play it, there are several types of mandolin with different tuning and number of strings, but I think it is not as hard as it seems smile.gif

hahha, I tried it once, and managed to play the intro lick from "loosing my religion" on the thinnest strings (not sure what notes are they biggrin.gif the space is really small between the strings, and they are doubled so it's tricky indeed.

I have an eight string mandolin. The strings are actually tuned just like a bass. So, if you can play bass, you should be able to pick it up easily. The only difference between the bass and a mandolin is that the mandolin is on the Treble Clef. But for guitarists, the switch should be a piece of cake. After playing mine for the first half hour, I had already learned Led Zeppelin- The Battle Of Evermore.
