Developing My Very Own Style

Hey everyone - I have a few questions about the creation of style.



Let's say that I have two bands in mind that I would like to meld and combine to create my own style. First being Muse and second being Evanescence (not necessarily the guitar only - but the mood of their songs). <Maybe I'm crazy but I think it would be an interesting/unique combination!

Now, this is all hypathetical but what would I need to start doing in order to build a style of two bands and translate it into pieces for guitar?
