Woke Up With Ringing Ears

This morning i woke up with ringing ears and it's the first time it has ever happened to me so i'm quite worried. Yesterday i remember my left ear was starting to hurt a little so i went easy on it, and as far as i remember when i went to bed last night it was fine there was no ringing or anything. However this morning it was very noticeable that my left ear was ringing, just the left though.

I thought maybe it's how i'd slept or something or maybe if i get up, clean it have a shower etc it'll go away i just thought maybe i'm tired. But no it is still here and i'm a little concerned at the moment. Anyway else had a similar experience?
