I was reading an article that talked about what the author considers the bands which are the future of Metal/Rock and I had the idea of starting a topic where you can post the bands that you consider that could apply to this description.
This is the article where the bands listed are Dead Sara, Heaven's Basement, Strangers, Knee High Fox and Tesseract. "It’s an amazing time for music, one where we have more listenable options open to us than ever before. And this number is only increasing with each day as we are given the ability to find new bands from resources such as Pandora, Spotify, Bandcamp, Soundcloud, and much, much more. But with that vast amount of possibility lies a loneliness. After all, how can we hope to find great new music when there are so many options ahead of us? Well my lovely readers, allow me to offer some suggestions, shall I? Without further ado, I present to you 5 Bands That Are The Future Of Rock And Metal! Head on below to see which bands I think are gonna be at the forefront of these beloved genres!" from: http://bloody-disgusting.com/news/3226498/...rock-and-metal/ What bands would you add to this list and why? -------------------- My lessons

Every band that has ever been touted in the music press (or any other press for that matter) as being the future of R&R ... has never been. And in fact most if not all the bands that actually did shape what came next (from the early 50s til now) have almost universally been 'panned' by the critics/press.
That's the beauty of true rock and roll. What's next always comes out of nowhere. This post has been edited by klasaine: Apr 30 2014, 05:10 PM -------------------- - Ken Lasaine

Whatever the future is, I hope DIY projects like TESSERACT and ANIMALS AS LEADERS are part of it Great examples of bands coming from nothing and using the web to get some traction and translating it into real world success.
I'm sure we will see many new groups/genres in the years to come as the barrier to entry is near zero. This means lots of bad music as well, but each year I find something to like I was reading an article that talked about what the author considers the bands which are the future of Metal/Rock and I had the idea of starting a topic where you can post the bands that you consider that could apply to this description.

I'm sure we will see many new groups/genres in the years to come as the barrier to entry is near zero. This means lots of bad music as well, but each year I find something to like yeah, this is a very cool new phenomenon. If I'm not wrong, both Periphery and Dragonforce are also bands that started also by member knowing each other and working using the web. -------------------- My lessons
