Task 30: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Bens-Blues/

Well, you didn't think I was gonna hit on the blues and NOT make you play this did you ??? laugh.gif

Watch out for the 'chicken pickin' at the beginning. I just used my middle finger for upstrokes basically. Try to get a real snap to those phrases (without breaking your strings of course !)

There's not a lot else to say that you guys can't figure out or handle yourselves so I turn it over to you in good faith !

Nail it guys, nail it to the wall !! wink.gif

Deadline is next Friday 24th August or I break hand ! ph34r.gif

Somebody has already learned this and was getting ready to record a REC take today or tomorrow.

biggrin.gif Hahahaha!

Seriously though Ben, this is a GREAT blues lesson. I know it's not really your thing but you should do some type of blues alter-ego or something going forward. cool.gif

Here we go Ben. I could play the first part much cleaner with the pick but went with the chicken picken. I have definitely enjoyed the blues phase of the Temple. Looking forward to seeing what you have in store next.

By the way, WOW! 30 weeks. Time flies when you're having fun. cool.gif

Brutal, Greg ! It was great to hear you playing that cool.gif

A couple of the bends were ever so slightly flat but all in all (you're just another brick in the wall..?) No, not that !! All in all, very well played - I really enjoyed it smile.gif

Thanks Ben! Yeah that part at 00:17 was by far the trickiest part for me along with a couple timing things (REC comments).

I'll take that Pink Floyd reference too. biggrin.gif A classic song from one of my most favorite bands.

Man, that's a great take! I was about to steal the donut right before your eyes, but couldn't finish before I had to go out. smile.gif
And now I will have to sleep. Will try to post my take tomorrow.

Man I just got lucky this week with this task. I was literally going to record a REC take for this yesterday when I saw Ben posted it for this week's task. Right-place right-time sort of thing.

Don't you hate it when sleep gets in the way ?? It's the same with eating.. when i want to get something done I can't be bothered to stop for something so trivial as eating !

You know Isaac Newton, back in the day when he was establishing the foundations of classical physics, apparently sometimes got so involved into solving something that he didn't remember to eat any dinner at all for several days.

Yeah, and now I have to eat. In a minute. But first, I'll post my slightly embarrassing take. Me playing blues.. with a wooden pick. I noticed some of my bends were off, too, but I can't record anymore now. I need another camera. And a new computer. And new fingers. Enjoy!

Also, I recorded the audio to one track, so I can't adjust the levels. ohmy.gif

Nice one, H ! I wouldn't be embarrassed at all. Ok, some of the bends are interestingly different but we can just call it a 'different interpretation' smile.gif

You got that staccato snap really nicely at the beginning and during those double stop bends. I really like how you guys still sound like yourselves with your own unique way of phrasing, even though you're playing my lines smile.gif

Ok, I don't know why I even uploaded the previous take. The bends are better now. I'm not sure "interestingly different" was a good thing. rolleyes.gif

Oooh yeah ! I love your use of pre-bends near the end and I also love that extra hammer on you add to the very end phrase - nice work bluesman ! cool.gif
