Hi Laurent,

I am very much looking forward to following you on this journey. One of the reasons being I have done this exact same thing myself a couple of years back.

A word of warning:

Going back to 'fix' old playing habits require a very different mindset than learning new material. There are almost no short-term rewards, and the over-all feeling in the beginning is just...frustration. After all - this is late pay back for cutting corners.

As always - the absolute biggest obstacle will be from within. So what we first need to to - is exactly identify what are the bad habits you have programmed your mind & body into.

So my first assignment to you, is to play a pattern / run that you feel comfortable with.

* Play it up to tempo with a drum machine / beat.

* Slow it down to the point that it's totally clean. If that requires you to go down to 50% speed that is fine. Use a a drum machine / beat.

Record a video and share it with me!

I am looking forward to hear back from you mate 👊

Thanks a lot Laurent, this is exactly the starting point we needed.

So what we can hear here, is a pretty random technique performance.

At times you do master this lick both medium at higher tempo speeds, and other times you mess up - but not in a consistent way - meaning we cannot identify one single reason for this. The later would make it so much easier to fix the issue.

Yet the explanation is here. Right in the beginning you show us a sloppy version at slow tempo, and this sloppy playing randomly returns throughout the performance at higher tempos as well.

So rule #1

If you want to play consistently without mistakes, you need to practice consistently without mistakes. This means never engaging in a routine where you repeat mistakes over and over, as we see here.

Keeping this in mind, I would like to ask you to repeat the assignment I initially gave you, with any exercise of choice (it might be easier for you to choose a new exercise where you do not have any bad habits "programmed").

Also, I would once again ask you for a performance using a metronome/drum machine. The reason being that if we need to descend the mountain and then climb back up to clean things up, we really don't want you to do it yet another time to play things in time as well.

Looking forward to hear back from you mate 👊

Hi Kristofer

So i'll record another one with the drum machine, cause i have work with it, but the sound of it wasn't recorded cause i only record the output of my eleven rack

Yes quality is random... better at fast speed , sloopy at low speed !

Need to work !!

Cheers

Laurent
