I like my gig bag, its a road runner and its never let me down.

I usually keep the strap on when I play, and I only put on the trem' bar when I wanna use it.

I'm a bit worried about keeping the strap on when its in the bag though because it might mess up my high gloss finish.

my friend got into a fight at a pub one time, and he used his gig bag (with his tele inside) the only thing close enough at the time, to protect himself from this guy trying to hit him with a chair (repeatedly). After people broke the fight up, he checked on his tele (MIM, so not incredibly expensive) and found it in perfectly good condition, like he never used it to stop someone from beating him with a chair.

ever since I heard that story, I swore by gig bags. The higher end ones are damn near invincible.

I never take my stuff anywhere at the moment - need to get into a band sometime when my job allows it ...

In any case:

- Hard Case always, Strap and Bar stay on until I move it

I cracked a classical guitar at age 12 in a boisterous queue to get on a school bus (was a very cheap unpadded bag though) - ever since then its been hard cases all the way.
