> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi mate, congrats on your first take for REC!

Your technique looks and sounds good here. However there is something very important to improve on this one and that should be your next goal: TIMING. You are not playing the notes even with the tempo, and the issue become more notorious in the second half. The notes should sound even with each kick and snare so you can use the drums as reference while playing.

At first, it's helpful to practice over the original lesson to be sure that you are going tight with the instructor. Then, you need to continue practicing over the backing to be able to play the exercise tight without the other guitar as reference.

Please keep on working on this one and share a new take soon!

Hey there Ken! So...you've just lost your REC-virginity you say...smile.gif

Very good first impression! For the future you could make your guitar slightly louder comparing to the backing track.

As Gab pointe - your main issue is the timming - you're in front of the beat. Before trying to fix this in playing I would like to suggest to recheck the sync between backing track and solo. Maybe it's one of those silly issues when a "trak has been moved" a few miliseconds". I'm sure it's not an interface issue since being "in front of the beat" is not how latency affect the audio smile.gif

Aside from this it's really nice an clean. well done! smile.gif

Oh...an very important notice. You need to stretch your left hand fingers to have a "playing ready" shape. You keep your fingers touching each other while you need to keep each of them on the fret the will be playing in particular position - just like in the lesson video. Also...please try to review which left hand fingers I use for particular notes - their order has a purpose. Unfortunately you would have to trust me in advance because you'll feel why it's so important, once you'll reach the ability to play in fast tempo
