Question For Theis Lesson: Groovin-and-thrashin

Hi,

I would like to learn this lesson: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Groovin-And-Thrashin/ but I don't know how to pick someting like this:

I mean especially the part Fret 9(F) and 7(G). How do i have to handle with the G String in this case.
How can I mute it? Or do i have to skip it with the right hand?

Hi Mloy, that is what we call 'octave chords', the two notes are the same note but one is higher than the other.

What you do, is you use your 1st finger (the one that would be fretting the 7th fret) to mute the D string by letting the underside of that finger lightly rest over the D string, muting it. You should be able to pick A and G string now in one go, and when your pick hits the D string, it won't sound anything because the string is choked off by your 1st finger. Hope that makes sense smile.gif

So, just pick it all in one stroke.
