I have had a similar problem but on that my disc c broke and we didnt know that when i was going to format c we accidently fromat d were i had everything(But nothing to important)

sorry to here thats Jaun but you could copy all the windows and all information to another Hard disk by HD cronis

 But have you tried a tool called GetDataBack? There's a version for FAT and NTFS.. it saved my ass once when a harddrive got corrupted and i lost 40gb's of mp3's. It saved everyone of them. It can restore after a normal format aswell. Damn, that's awful..
I've had the same problem a few times, but never lost as musch as an album recording But try to do what Trond Vold said, you might get very lucky

Sorry to hear that Juan, I've had some experiences like that, my hard-drive also got corrupted and I lost lot's of pictures etc . I know it's very frustrating

This also partially depends on how the format was done. I'm guessing that you used Windows to do the format Juan, in which case you've almost certainly have only done a high level format. As such it's probably a case where the File Allocation Table was reset to zero rather then your actual data being completely removed. This is recoverable.
A low level format btw will set the FAT to zero and overwrite the entire hard drive partition several times, usually by writing 0 to each bite and so render your data gone. V unlikely that you did this btw as normally it's done by specialised software. Even this is recoverable though but needs some very sophisticated and expensive data mining software. Anyway there are data recovery companies that can get your data back. They usually charge a fee for each Mb recovered. There are also lots of data recovery software packages that you could use so all is not lost.
