Hi John,
Iif you're already comfortable with the hybrid picking technique here's a lesson that could helps you to improve your skills and/or maybe give you some fresh ideas (it seems that you already know this lesson).
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Lead-Hybrid-Picking/Here's a basic exercise with a Dm arpeggio (practice with a metronome!) :
Pick / Middle / Ring finger
P M R P M R
E |--------5-----------5-------|--------5-----------5-------|
B |-----6-----------6----------|-----6-----------6----------|
G |--7-----------7-------------|--7-----------7-------------|
D |----------------------------|----------------------------|
A |----------------------------|----------------------------|
E |----------------------------|----------------------------|
Hope it helps!
Stephane, I been experimenting some assorted picks for different styles.. i like my fingers and feel more comfortable finger style,, i do not like using a thumb pick playing fast country licks,, rather learn your method hybrid with the stiff pick i see ..ty once agaon for sharing. Many here at GMC are inspirational talented instructors,, glad to be a member and learning much here from you and the others. this morning Ted Greene lick of the day so cool!.. I never heard of the guy but what beautiful embellishing chords.. using a Carvin semi hollow now.. i am fortunate to own a bunch of guitars.. was going to grab an es 335 deal on ebay but first want to sell a DM-12 string i rarely play. thank you once again for kind reply, John
