As is usually happens at the end of the year, there are lots of balances and I'm curious to know which are the albums that you liked more from this year. In my case I have been listening to a lot of old music, so I can't say that there are too many albums from this year that I have been checking.
The first that come to mind: Daft Punk - Random Access Memory // Black Sabbath - 13 // Queens of the stone age - Like Clockwork What about you? Which are your favorite albums and why? -------------------- My lessons

A few other cool albums of this musically awesome year:
The Strokes - Comedown Machine (By far their best album, far more groove and punch and not as linear IMHO) Phoenix - Bankrupt! (guilty pleasure maybe, I saw them live and they're a solid band for a pop-rock act!) Nine Inch Nails - Hesitation Marks Junip - Junip (very acoustic, soothing band) Foals - Holy Fire Arctic Monkeys - AM (though a lot of people tend to hate on this band, this album is pretty cool, and pop-rock) Oh and hum hum Dream Theater - Dream Theater (but I think most of you guys already heard it ) And don't forget Paul McCartney - New (not bad at all) and David Bowie - The Next Day (Nothing new really, though some cool songs) BTW this is all personal taste, so don't start bashing the bands guys This post has been edited by Nicolas C: Dec 31 2013, 01:44 AM -------------------- Gear: -Fender Amercian Deluxe Tele -Ibanez RG2550Z

When I went in the mountains with the band, last week, we listened to the old DT albums.. man that was music! Again, personal opinion, but they are sorting out albums nowadays simply because they have to do it, unfortunately. Tell me about it, man my favourite albums are Images & Words, Metropolis Pt2 and Octavarium (because you got to dig the Rudess ) Very cool song by Ben Howard, thanks Cosmin. A friend had shown me his Call Me Maybe cover, this dude really does have some original musical ideas! Ive always been impressed by how ingenious their song writing can be. They definitely have some really cool arrangements, Plus since their 3rd album they have been close friends with Josh Homme, you can feel the QOTSA influence on some sliding guitar licks, and Homme even does backup vocals on two songs off the AM album. Just like the lead singer, Alex Turner, did for ...Like Clockwork album !
