Pedals are great fun. I love plugins, multipedals, etc. But I do still love a good pedal. I'm always on the lookout for new pedals to try and make cool videos about. I've done wads of videos about pedals over the years and each one was fun as heck just because it meant playing around with a new pedal. Some pedals are crazy pricey, but not all of them. You can get a huge variety of pedals for about $50 each. For a look at some of these, check this vid. The pedal names/links are in the vid info.

The one criticism I have is that the JHS amp in this demo sounds very boxy to my ears and so makes the pedals sound a bit less than they should. I really wish he would use a 4x12. Also, his guitar is a bit crap for some of these types of pedals and it's a bit out of tune!! Still, these guys make some very good pedals and some good pedal demo vids.

There are lots of great sub $50 pedals out there!

Here's something I just discovered ... https://www.jrrshop.com/jrr-pedals-janice
It's a clone of the $350-$400 Vemuram 'Jan-Ray' which is a lower gain, Cranked Fender Blackface style pedal that is all the rage right now..
This guy also makes a 2-ch Muff style pedal ... https://www.jrrshop.com/jrr-pedals-ram-triangle

I bought one of the 'Janice' pedals. I like it. As it's a lower gain type of pedal it can be subtle. It's really more of a EQ shift with some added gain/OD.

Spiff!! Those look and sound like nice pedals. They also do a TUBE screamer mod clone that is also $50 which is a great price. Just barely more than a Joyo which doesn't have the same features.
