i have set some goals in terms of technical aspects (some lessons from here, just waiting for my main guitar being operational again), muscially well i am trying to get my relative pitch up, i am starting with simple Fifths and Major Thirds, still a damn long long way;

weakness - Well i am not the must disciplined person, i always find excuses to "do it later", i am still tryin to break this habit, the rest is the same old technical cliche tongue.gif;

strongest point - i don't know, i guess i don't descriminate any kind of music, i am a open minder and can listen to any genre without being bother by the labels.

Your favorite guitar players - Buckethead, Paul Gilbert, Marty Friedman, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, Guthrie Govan, Nuno Betterncourt, listen cool go on, but i think those are the dudes i listen the most

Perfect! I have a very good exercise that does magic!
It will develop your alternative picking technique very fast!!!
The trick is to practice it at a very slow tempo and get full control over your hands!!!
It is very important to master mechanical exercises you will get great results and will see progress very very fast!

Hey Alex, i must apologize, i had some nasty personal problems so i couldn't grab the guitar as much as i wanted this week...i also catch
the good old cold..so my body is only at 50% laugh.gif

Well about the exercise, i have managed to hit 120, but there is still some issues, especially the last ascending run.

there's a lot of tension there, even more while on the low tempos. ( never been big of a lead player tongue.gif)

I will try and record it for you!

Something new? Well my finally objective is to be able to walk into a jam and be comfortable with myself, so i guess i still need alot of clean up in all sections, from chords to lead, there's is still a lot of sloppyness, so i don't know, throw me something, i am pretty sure it will be useful tongue.gif!

Cool!
Let's get into jams! I have a very cool blues backing track
It is in the key of E
So the chord progression is E7 - A7 - B7
Here it is
http://soundcloud.com/alex-feather-akimov/blues-mentoring

I would like you to record a short jam using E minor pentatonic scale in this positions:

Question and Answer technique will work perfectly! Have you heard about it?
Let me know and I will explain it in details! smile.gif

Hey Alex, here it is. Well i am not really aware of Question and Answer technique, i use more the experimentation approach, if i hit a note not so good, i try to squeeze it to sound less bad or i just make like into repetive pattern so it sounds more "normal, sometimes i just miss the boat like 0:59 tongue.gif

The video was straight jam, pretty much generic blues laugh.gif as i said before, i am not that good with crazy ninja stunts.

BTw: i noticed...i forgot to adjust the guitar volume, you may wanna use headphones..or do you want me to record again?

It is really hard to hear your guitar if you can please re do the take or bring up the guitar! The thing is I can hear you play but If it would be more clear I can help you out more! smile.gif I hope you don't mind

There are a few different types of question and answer technique
You can go even numbers or even/odd number of phrases!
Just pretend it's a conversation between a men and a woman!
Low octave is men hight is woman!
This is the best and the fastest way to master Q&A technique!
Playing two notes in a lower register and replying in a higher register with two notes as well

----------------------------------------------
------------------------------12-15-----------
----------------------------------------------
---5-7----------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------

Two - four
Playing two notes in a lower register and replying in a higher register with four notes

----------------------------------------------
------------------------------12-15-----------
-------------------------------------12-14----
---5-7----------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------

Four - four

--------------------------------------12-15---
------------------------------12-15-----------
--------5-7-----------------------------------
---5-7----------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------

You can keep going in even numbers! This technique will help you develop your solo so you don't show everything right away!
Very good technique to use when you are got caught on the spot and have to play something right away!

Let me know if you need any help or have any questions!
