Here is a tune I have been working on recently - where I have experimented with a new, lower voice. As usual suggestions are very welcome as I am trying to learn how to make my mixes (etc) as good as possible. Thanks for listening!
A Loner (now at iTunes) Do you know who I am? - I have planted a seed in your brain That makes the pain stay the same Unleash the beast! At least I have come to join the feast What a surprise... A loner - never meant to be your fall A loner - never meant to see you crawl A loner - descendant of your act You don't seem to get it - I am coming, no in fact, I am running I will haunt you in your sleep, no relief Bring back the beast Don't settle for the least Open your eyes... A loner - wasn't meant to be your fall A loner - never meant to see you crawl A loner - descendant of your act SOLO A loner - wasn't meant to be your fall A loner - never meant to see you crawl A loner - descendant of your act |

Awesome to get your comment Muris - you're right I will probably experiment with a bassier sound next time. I have a constant fear of getting a too bassy guitar sound, which usually ruins everything since there are so many dubs. Indeed, working with low frequencies can be really tricky, most of the time either our ear cannot hear what's happening down there or speakers can't produce the subs! The way some producers are dealing with this issue is to cut trebs the on same guitar channel to compensate lows without pushing them at all, it's like weighting. -------------------- Youtube

Ah interesting - so do you mean that by removing trebs you get more bass this way? (if so that could explain where the bass went in this mix - there's loads of treble) Just like that, removing and not adding. Edit, you'll probably have to boost channel's level afterwards, less trebs or whatever always results in less volume as well. I followed your advice in this sample - and to me it is now more pleasant to the ears...what do you think? (basically I applied it to the whole mix - as the treble came from the mastering software, so that's also where I reduced it) Also overall levels are lower now as you predicted - but they where on the edge of distorting before, so it doesn't hurt. a_loner_master12.mp3 ( 1.02MB ) Number of downloads: 239 Awesome! Like the chorus and solo very much! Solo remind me of Luca Turilli, just he usually don`t use wah. hehe thanks! Yes I decided it was time to use the dusty wah pedal once again |
