hey guys,
my names marc, but everyone calls me Maiden...or marc...
why maiden? because iron maiden is what started me on guitar! they might not be #1 on my play list anymore, but i used to play a lot of maiden covers and what not, so people at school called me maiden.
anyways i just turned 19...new year brings new toys...
i just got an 1996 rg220...although they were the lower level of the rgs, this one is a little special.
I got it for $100, pretty decent condition, new internal electronics, and a sexy fret job on the neck..now its my main axe! my girlfriend even bought me new gibson pick ups to put in it...now she screams!!
best part? MAPLE fretboard and GREEN body!! yay!
because i stopped playing gigs for awhile i sold all my loud amps, and went studio with a tone port and high quality speakers...etc...now im back to playing gigs and i just got a roland cube amp for practices that i love...next purchase is going to be a new stack of some sort...dont know what though!

Musical playing history:
started with iron maiden
headed to modern classic rock (eagles, clapton
back to maiden
fell in love with power metal from there
hit the dragonforce age
that died...fast...
went to sonata arctica and nightwish
turned to neo classical (yngwie, Becker..etc)
turned to progressive rock/metal (symphony x and dream theater)
now im getting into jazz ( i play in a jazz combo at my college)
total playing and teaching myself time: 6-8 years... ouch!
so what i want to get from GMC: the ultimate knowledge of modal soloing in the jazzy persuasion! i also want to better my shred.. i can play fast...what i lack from teaching myself, is a bit above beginner theory, and modal chord and scale theory...plus jazz and shred go hand in hand almost...just turn on distortion to jazz and you have shred..for the most part....ive read some of the lessons, and already i have a better grasp of it all....
well thats my lengthy intro! hope to make some new friends here!!
