Pantera-ish I agree. Has a lot of characteristics of Thrash Metal.
OR.... Bluegrass |

A very good emulated metal tone that's what it is !
I'd say death/thrash tone from what I hear. |

Pantera-ish I agree. Has a lot of characteristics of Thrash Metal. OR.... Bluegrass Oddly enough, good hear! The structure of the first lick is actually inspired by bluegrass. The alternate picking leading pinch bend is structurally similar to alternate picking or finger picking leading to a slide as done on accoustic and or dobro. A very good emulated metal tone that's what it is ! I'd say death/thrash tone from what I hear. Well said! I'd say Trash Also well said! Old school Pantera with extra reverb? So... Metal? ReMetalVerb! would "UNBELIEVABLE" work? Almost has to be software right? http://soundcloud.com/techniqueswithtodd/djent-gr5 This post has been edited by Todd Simpson: Mar 13 2012, 02:18 AM |

I can only speak for what I think but Todd, I think that is incredible! Besides the great playing, how did you get that sound? It sounds very, very expensive (i.e. nothing I'm going to get out of my ME-25). Thanks It's a very simple setup. just a cheap guitar (20 year old Ibanez Rg560 with crap, stock pickups) and a plugin (Guitar Rig 5). I'm using my old cheap/crap GNX 3 (discontinued) as a preamp but the patch sounds pretty much the same with or without it. So yeah, it's just a spiff custom patch I'll post it in my GUITAR RIG 5 THREAD! You can download the Guitar Rg 5 Demo for FREE! Here is a link, it comes with a FREE version and a FREE Demo of the PRO VERSION. http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/pro...-pro/?page=2514 I'm NOT endorsed by them but I think they should give me free stuff as much as I am always screaming how spiff they are!
