First off, what kind of sound do you want to achieve with the EQ pedal?
Usually the reasons for using a EQ pedal are to maybe tighten up the sound a little bit by boosting some mids or using the pedal as a "boost" for soloing etc. So as such, the pedal wouldn't make a lot of difference just by being there, but if you want to cut or boost certain frequencies in your sound then it can be handy. -------------------- Gear:

Ok, then I suggest you give the EQ pedal a go.

EQ stomp is bought mainly because you wanna change the color of your sound quickly, without reaching to EQ the sound on the amp. If you need it for that, I guess it is good to get it. MXR 10 band EQ is a very decent EQ and it will work great for coloring the sound in any way you want.
