hey fellas
said i would post my progress on this technique i have been struggling with, wanted to do it today but dont have alot of time, gotta work again so i didn't do video to save time , so much working the past couple months , gotta make the dough for my bills and gear though here is gabs rise against lesson https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Rise-A...-Hardcore-Punk/. the part i stuggled with starts is at 7-15 sec. i almost got it i fell i can still improve a lot. i really need to change my strings to, ive played my guitar hard for a month now no string change, and long over due, feel like i got loss of tone, and trouble staying in tune, but really wanted to post this real quick https://soundcloud.com/rockmusic-915/riseagainsthardcorepunk the another lesson i really enjoyed was gabs millencolin lesson https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Millencolin-Style/ that uses alot of chords, or maybe you would call them triads, in the begining riff, that uses alot of down picking. When i practiced this one i used the loop backing track to help build my stamina and played the loop over and over till my arm couldnt take it this could still use alot of improvment https://soundcloud.com/rockmusic-915/millencollinstyle This post has been edited by dcz702: Jun 6 2014, 01:10 AM |

thanks cosmin, im using the high gain channel of my amp with my mesa flux drive overdrive that has seperate bass and treble control,(thanks for the tip todd simpson). ive been experamenting with the settings to shape the tone, i also have my compressor on at a low setting, not really sure how to use the attack and clipping knob, i just play with it and see what it does , what does it do by the way? and off beat, yes i hear it, i also think i hear myself off beat with the short riff that starts at 27-35 seconds, i think im so concentarated on keepinh the beat down picking, im not listening to the track as close as i should. and those four notes played slow while the rest of the tune is fast threw me off a bit, still working on it. thanks bro Hi mate, great to see you working hard on your technique. As Cosmin said, that part that you marked from Rise Against lesson still has some timing issues, but it's just a matter of practice. I would do a loop with that part and practice for at least 30 minutes every day. It would be a great training. Regarding the use of compressor, here is a series of thread about them created by Tony Miro: HERE -------------------- My lessons
