I'm looking for a good Microphone to Record an Rehearsal i already have an sm 57.
What other Microphone can you recomment for Metal and Hard Rock?

Hello there!

Whats the price range? We do have some really knowledgeable people here on this subject Tony and Todd come to mind.

Shure SM57 (6" distance from the cone; centered) , Sennheiser e609 (touching the grill mesh; slightly off center)
Les Paul > Ibanez TS9 > Mesa Tripled Rectifier > Microphones.

That's a clip I was messing with that I made yesterday, the mics are panned to 40/40. I do believe the e609 has more of a mid range hump compared to the sm57. I seem to like it more for leads as well.

Hey SpaseMoonkey, that is really a nice tone. Do you mind if I ask something? Could you record the same thing without going through the tube screamer ? So guitar -> mesa rectifier -> mic . I would like to hear it that way if possible please. Thanks smile.gif
