The past week I have been practising on the lesson of the Maj C scale as Monica suggested. Still a work in progress but here's the result after one week...

Hello Monica,
Already back with a new take https://youtu.be/xWTlUZv9D-4 I corrected the things you've mentioned. Still not perfect but I think it's an improvement compared with the first take. |

Hello Monica, Already back with a new take https://youtu.be/xWTlUZv9D-4 I corrected the things you've mentioned. Still not perfect but I think it's an improvement compared with the first take. Great, now your playing looks better. The next step to fixing your left hand is to try to minimize finger movements. Keep your fingers close to the fretboard. Even if, at a slower tempo, this does not affect your playing, at higher speed it will turn against you. I don't want this to happen. Let's fix this from the start. The tempo of this lesson is perfect to take care of the fingers' behavior. |

Hi Monica, Another take on this lesson. I paid attention on your remark to keep my left fingers close to the fretboard. https://youtu.be/VUYpHBh2tlo Cheers, Gert Hi Gert! Yes, your left fingers looks better now and that is an awesome thing. But...I don't like the fact that your pinky finger is still too far from the fretboard. Look close at how the instructor keeps his hand. I made the capture in the same place of the song: The slides sound much better. Now we can hear the accent on the purpose note, not on the picked one. Congrats! My advice is to use the picking direction from the main video of the lesson because, from my point of view, it's much easier for playing and will let you put better accents. But... it's up to you which one makes you feel more comfortable ( main video or slow video). Your playing is improved and I love how this lesson started to sound. Keep up your amazing work! BTW, I think you are now ready to raise the tempo and see how things will work. EDIT: I thought to learn you how to make your videos visible in a thread. Here are the steps: 1. After you press "Add Reply" and write the message, when you want to insert your video, go to the left side of the window and press on "Insert: Youtube". 2. Copy here the URL adress from your YT. 3. Press "OK". Before to press "OK" make a click on the space where you want to be put the video. This post has been edited by Monica Gheorghevici: Nov 26 2022, 05:38 PM |
