Might be moving city in a few months so needed an affordable but good solution, was using a spare Behringer for a long time and already needed to replace it anyway.

Noticing a good discount, a very experienced friend of mine got this recently and when asked he advised it strongly. I had Focusrite in-mind but after some research realised this was focused better for my needs.

-Cons; It has 2-3ms more latency than competitors and the (asio) driver hasn't been updated since release. Fingers crossed as from experience I know such updates can take a long time but with a different asio driver I sloved the issue (though for guitar playing the latency of the original driver wasn't too bad anyway).

-Pros; For me, it accells mainly from the monitor and headphone sections. Probably using active components, the output sounded very noticeable "tighter" to my ears both on monitors and headphones. Also despite being single input, having midi in-out was important for me (I use an old electric piano as a midi-keyboard)

Other aspects I'd guess are similar to the competition but have been using for a week and I'm happy with my purchase. The focusrite alternatives are guarantied to be good due to popularity but for any reason if one needs an alternative these are cool too.

I'm not sure what you paid for the Volt 1 but here in the States it is priced only slightly higher than the Focusrite Scarlett Solo but it is miles beyond it in quality, functionality, and sound.

Same here but I got it cheaper than the focusrite even though I paid for shipping, lucky timing for me I guess.

Can't compare it side-by-side with Focusrite but there are youtube vid.s that do and yeah its pretty good. To be honest even a non-musician can buy and enjoy only listening music with it, I'm very impressed.

All of the UAd gear is top-notch.
After using my Apollo heavily, almost every day, for the last two and a half years - I wouldn't want to use anything else.
