As I'm working on my attic, I'm making a list of things to buy and I do have Kali Lp6 2nd wave on the list.

Now when I'm watching produce like a pro and they are showing the difference certain eq or compression changes have made, unless it's drastic I don't hear it. Now this could be my speakers, youtube or my ears being a problem.

Even when I do basic eq changes like high pass etc on my own stuff I'm not hearing much/any difference

Will I notice a big difference spending out on monitors or will I be disappointed.

Can you hear the EQ tweaks and compression examples when you're listening with headphones?

Monitors do potentially make a big difference, providing that your listening space doesn't have big problems i.e., standing waves, bass buildup, too live, too dead, bad placement, etc.

The Kali Lp6s are pretty good near-field monitors.
You may want to look into the new Adam T7 V. They're probably $100 more than the Kalis.
$500 (USD) per pair.

Spot on as always smile.gif I agree all the way on the KALI. The LP6 are a great set of monitors. You can get a great deal on a pair of used gen 1 Kali now that the gen2 our out and the difference is minimal in terms of performance imho. The ADAM are also a fine choice. I've got a pair of the Kali LP6 gen 1 and I love them to death. I sold my KRK monitors shortly after getting the Kali.

The Adams are 2 euro cheaper over here!

I think the listening space will be improved on over time as I come into problems, my 1st one to deal with is minimising the noise that my neighbour will hear!

Good tip about headphones, I'll do some tests to see if my ears are faulty from the loud music of my youth

I have a tv type soundset connected to the headphone-out of my soundcard and monitors, for watching shows listening music etc. I use that system and only for music projects use my monitors.

Indeed though the soundset is slightly eq's to resemble my monitors, I can't hear anything that can be considered a detailed sound. Its a nice sound but masked by its own coloration.

I have very old models of Adams I still use, while they are a bit more detailed than most monitors I've listened (specially things like reverb is more apparent) I could live without them if I have a decent headphone option.
