Hey guys, first post here so be nice ph34r.gif

Anyway, Kris your lessons rock, I have learned many things and I have been only a few days here.

I want to know in which order would you recommend to learn what guitar scales?

I want to play rock, metal, and some of the stuff that Opeth does that sounds a little sad.

So what would be most useful?

If I follow your lessons, it would go "A minor pentatonic" > C Major Ionian > and then what?

I tried making some music but after reaching a certain point I don't know which notes I should play, I think I must learn more scales because I don't like using the same "box" all the time, it sounds bad.

And one extra question if you don't mind, what scale does Opeth use in the song The Twilight is My Robe? That's kind of the sound I have been discovering, it sounds very cool to me, if a little sad.

Thanks Kris or anyone who can answer

sounds like a good order!

Remeber: there is no point in memorizing a whole bunch of random boxes in different scales or keys. Instead learn one over the whole fretboard, learn how to move it up and down to change key. Most of all spend months on it laerning to improvise and create music with it...!

I spend at least a year on the pentatonic scale before being ablt to play music with it!
