I like some jazz artists but I'll leave it to maestro to give a proper advice. -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

How about checkin' out George Benson ? (or is that more groove & funk inspired than jazz maybe?)

I was just thinking of modern jazz players, but Benson's early stuff is really jazz. But whatever the "style" he is an awesome musician to listen to. Benson is Great -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

This thread here is probably worth a look at as well. The Fusion list has some interesting people who could very easily sit in the Jazz list as well .
A few others worth mentioning: Crusaders, RMS, Steps Ahead, Mike Brecker, Charlie Mingus, Art Tatum, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Weather Report, Yellow jackets. I liked early Benson when he was more in to playing Wes Montgomery type licks rather than his later singing. His singing, for me, is ok but a bit too close to 'smooth jazz'. -------------------- Get your music professionally mastered by anl AES registered Mastering Engineer.
