I helped fund it Along with hordes of other folks through their online fundraising campaign. IT's a great example of fan funded music. It's much harder of course for unknown bands to get that kind of funding through indiegogo and such but if you have even a decent sized following you can do pretty well. They raised $35,000!!!!!! via indiegogo.com
Recording the release will probably not cost that much so they have some left over to live on, spend on promo, etc. The key here is to manage to break through the "noise" enough to gain a bit of a foothold with fans. This is not a small endeavor. It's taken loomis decades to built his following and Merrow has been going for several years. But it looks like it was worth it. IF they can continue like this, who needs a record lable? Here is a link to their campaign http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/conquering-dystopia Jeff Loomis- Guitars Keith Merrow- Guitars Alex Webster- Bass Alex Rudinger- Drums |

I didn't fund it but I'm buying the album. There were some awesome gear like those signed overdrive pedals and guitars used on album. Also skype lessons and even dinner ! Those guys are geniuses ! Hey should pass the hat for 1000$ to get Loomis' solo for next GMC collab This post has been edited by WeePee: Mar 8 2014, 08:15 PM |
