Hey all you shredheads out there, I have a quick question to ask ya:

I just noticed that when I speed pick I tend to anchor my right hand on tremolo system on my floyd rose (like when you palm mute, just further back off of the strings)
This usually ends in me accidently palm muting the Low E string, and makes changing strings abit of a problem, especially on ascending runs (since I can't get much arm movement, changing strings tends to be from the wrist at the moment...baaad >_< )

I just started forcing my right hand to "float" above the strings, without anchoring and it feels uncomfortable, but seems to make my playing sound better . And I can access all strings easily...I may also try anchoring my pinky soon too

Would I be right in saying that anchoring my hand in the way described above is a pretty bad habbit I need to get out of? And is what I said the right approach?

Thanks all =)

John
