"With precision of the fingers goes precision of the mind"
I knew he said this in one of the Agatha Christie novels, but did not remember with one. I came across it on youtube. At 4 minute mark. He was creating a house of cards at the time, but the same principle applies to us. I do feel that playing has made me smarter in other ways. I think it makes sense. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrxG7k4P4Wk&NR=1 |

Nicely put man, precision is what is the most important thing, and although lots of things affect our playing and how we behave, I think precision has a generalized meaning here. It can mean "discipline", "commitment", "persistency", "consistency", just precision in doing all kinds of things in life, from planning a practice session precisely to planing a gig precisely. If we can be precise in many of these things, we are on the road to success.
