It's wise to get small break from alternate picking practicing
and come back for it latter on,might produce good results for you. You notice it well,I often do "a racking", which is as you said playing over few strings while actually playing only one note. And also you can see that I usually use my left hand index finger to mute all other strings, plus some palm muting as well. I do same then when performing ordinary bend even without racking,I use my index finger to mute lower strings. This racking technique needs practicing just like everything else but once you get THE FEEL for it, it's piece of cake. Check out my SRV lesson tho, there's lot of racking in there. As for vibrato on bends,I could talk a lot about it but best thing for you atm would be to try Marcus Lavendel's vibrato lessons,he did few of them and I'm sure you'll learn a lot there. Ask if you need anything else tho. -------------------- Youtube

I see, then try to work on bends with ring and middle fingers only,
leave index to do muting, will come in handy for sure. Keep practicing, you're very welcome. -------------------- Youtube
