Hi Muris;
Again me.
I get furious practicing alternate picking. I can not do that. I´ve spent years playing, as I´ve just known the name, "economy picking" and I can not change the string in the alternate way sad.gif .
So I decided to practice it in some months, with more developed fingers I whish.
Now I´m trying the E minor melodic solo lesson.
It´s pretty beautiful.
I´m almost nailing it, but I´ve got a problem.
When you bend the string, you don´t hit only the string you bend.
I´ve noticed that you hit a lot of muted!?!?!? strings and that make a very cool sound (remainds me Gary Moore bendings)before and during the bending. How do you make it??
I´m trying it, but I can´t. sad.gif
Could you give me any tip or suggest a lesson to practice it?
I really love that noise before the bending.
Other hard part is the vibrato. I can not make the vibrato in a bended string.
Like before, any tip of how can I practice it?
And by the way, very beautiful solo, and great backing track also. PERFECT!!
Thanks for your answer.

It's wise to get small break from alternate picking practicing
and come back for it latter on,might produce good results for you.

You notice it well,I often do "a racking",
which is as you said playing over few strings while
actually playing only one note.
And also you can see that I usually use my left hand
index finger to mute all other strings,
plus some palm muting as well.
I do same then when performing ordinary bend even
without racking,I use my index finger to mute lower strings.
This racking technique needs practicing just like everything
else but once you get THE FEEL for it,
it's piece of cake. smile.gif
Check out my SRV lesson tho, there's lot of racking in there.

As for vibrato on bends,I could talk a lot about it
but best thing for you atm would be to try
Marcus Lavendel's vibrato lessons,he did few of them
and I'm sure you'll learn a lot there.

Ask if you need anything else tho. smile.gif

Finally I know how that stuff is called, I did since I heard it the first time, just gives a more powerful sound imo. I understand the problem, sometimes it's quite annoying to get harmonics (I usually mute with the thumb) instead of that muted string sound laugh.gif

Thank for your answer Muris!!!
Actually I need my index finger to help the other fingers bend the string, otherwise the risk of losing the string increases I guess sad.gif .
I was cheking the Marcus lessons and they´re pretty cool. But I think that they´re a little bit off the limit of my level.
Too much to do I guess.
Thanks again Muris.
I´m going back to your lesson. I need to become a guitarist wink.gif

I see, then try to work on bends with ring and middle fingers only,
leave index to do muting, will come in handy for sure.

Keep practicing,you're very welcome. smile.gif
