Hi,

This one I think it's influenced by the playing of Steve Morse.
The Morse Code

How do you rate his playing?

I enjoyed it smile.gif He is clearly putting in some practice time. Good vibrato and overall performance I'd say. It could be that his guitars are not intonated or not tuned properly but I keep hearing bits that sound just a pinch out of tune. I notice he initiates a lot with upstrokes but that comes down to personal preference really. His picking has is just a pinch stiff but his vibrato is quite good as is his hand synch. Looks like he's been playing for a few years at least. Thanks for the share! smile.gif Do you know this guy?

No, I don't know this guy personally.
He is a professional guitar player in a metal band from Romania(the country where I live) called Trooper.
It's a band influenced mostly by Iron Maiden and Judas Priest.
This guitar player is one of the main founders of the band Trooper.

I agree with everything that Todd, Ken and Monica said here. The cool thing is that his composition is interesting so now he should focus on basics, and expressing techniques in order to make it sound more convincing.

I don't only thing that he needs tune or calibrate his guitar, he needs to work on vibrato, alternate picking, dynamics, bending, and why not, polishing his guitar tone.

I can hear Morse/Purple vibes here...

By the way, why are you asking Victor?

Yes, this song called "Morse Code" is inspired by Deep Purple and Steve Morse.

I am asking this because I like to take an in depth look at guitar playing, analyzing the style and to get a better understanding of music.

I think most people won't notice those details. How can one improve if his ears will not notice the details?

I will share 2 other songs from the band. I like the guitar in those.
Trooper they are singing in Romanian, I think it will be interesting to hear a language that is different for you.

Let me know what you think.

They are pretty popular in Romania as a metal band, doing concerts and stuff like that.
If you like metal and live in Romania it's unlikely not to know this band.

The band's name comes from the Iron Maiden song "The Trooper"

This song was released in 2002, I feel a strong Iron Maiden influence in this one:

And here the same song was re-recorded in 2019, to be included on a best of album:

It's great to hear Metal bands doing well in other countries. Metal music hasn't been on the charts very much in the states for a while now but we still have a pretty big underground Metal scene and there are still a lot of great bands around. Popular music has drifted back towards very young gals doing dance music, though there is some variation. Still, Metal started in the underground, it will probably be around forever, at least I hope so smile.gif

Looks like these guy have been going for 20 years! That alone is hugely impressive. Thanks again for the share!!
