By the way guys, Theory is good but PRACTICE is better wink.gif I always put practice over theory, but theory compliments practice well. If that makes sense laugh.gif laugh.gif unsure.gif

So what do you get when you pass it? Bragging rights and a piece of paper? Is there course material you can study? It sounds like something I've been looking for to really get into theory. I've considered guitar lessons to help mainly on my theory. As it stands currently my technical proficiency is way higher than my theory knowledge tongue.gif.

Best of luck with your test man!

Yeah you get course materials to look through and exercises and workbooks and then you do the exam to make sure you understand it correctly and can therefore use it to help yourself. Not really for bragging just so you have a structured learning of theory in my opinion that is internationally noticed. smile.gif

Yes this is a common misconception I find in the guitar community smile.gif Its just about structured learning, not about a peice of paper. smile.gif

The piece of paper just shows that you understand the material well enough to be able to implement it correctly in your playing.

Cheers Hisham biggrin.gif

For me personally it was laughably easy but I started for some weird reason on Grade 1 and I'm not quite that bad lol biggrin.gif

I finished exam after 20 minutes. Read through it 3 times to make sure I hadn;t made silly mistakes and left after 40 minutes. We had 1 hour and 30 minutes tops smile.gif

I should have a distinction with ease and I don't think I should lose a mark.

Bring on Grade 2. Also Matt, is the enteronline section of ABRSM down at the minute because I can't log in to enter into Grade 1 Practical and Grade 2 Music Theory for April.
