Hey, First off thanks for a wonderful community and amazing site!

I'm still using my starter guitar (Yamaha Pacifica) and I saved money for another one.

I have UP TO a $600 to spend. I'd prefer to spend around $400, because then I wouldn't have to borrow money from a friend.

I like the look of the Schecter C-1 Exotic Star a lot (in white)
I also like ESP guitars

Any guitar you suggest is appreciated, 6 string electrics though!

Thanks.

well actually i would suggest to wait a little bit, save more money, and buy the guitar of your dream, if you can afford 1000€, you can have a hell of a guitar, and pacifica is a good guitar (on quality/price ratio).
If you insist on buying a new guitar, well you can also buy a cheap guitar, and change it's pickups... (i don't know what kind of sound you're looking after, there's a lot of great pickups for about 300 € ==> EMG, DiMarzio, fender strat, Dunlop ...
as for guitars, well i really like ibanez guitar, but i think that the most important piece is the neck ...
in conclusion, try to find a good (cheap) guitar that you like (how it looks) and try it to see if you feel confortable with the neck, then try many pickups, when you find the sound you're looking after, buy those pickups and put them on your guitar

PS: remember that the sound of your guitar can also change when you change amps, so when you try your guitar, try it on a similar amp of yours.

For 600$ I'd recommend an Epiphone Les paul Custom, if you like les pauls.

I was inches from buying that a week or two ago, a great guitar for the money, actually I can't find one difference (besides the price tongue.gif ) between it and the Gibson version.
