What do you get your parents for Christmas? I have to get my Dad something and my Mum a present and I never know what to get. I got my mum and her boyfriend a 3 course meal at a posh restaurant on new year's day last Christmas and they loved it but I want to do something different this year and also I got my Dad a decent going out watch. I just don't know what to get this year. My best mate as well although he is a bit easier to buy for because I see him every day.

The same problem here. smile.gif It all depends how much you want to spend (or how much you earn). I'm still a student and so I don't earn money. Usually, I have to lend from my mum to buy something for my dad and vice versa. I buy some chocolats and I little bigger present (a visit to the cinema or to the hairdresser,...).

I spend about UK£50 on both of them. I earn lots but I'm in bad money after university so still struggling to get back in the plus whilst doing my Engineering Doctorate.

The same problem here. biggrin.gif AGAIN! Haha smile.gif A nice present to give is this: buy them a lot of small and useless (some can be useful of course) presents. biggrin.gif That is always funny. biggrin.gif Examples: candle, chewing-gum,... You see? biggrin.gif

If you'd buy them such a present, they should be laughing, I think. biggrin.gif And that is a cool present. After laughing, you can give them something more serious... I don't know what. You have to know, they're your parents! biggrin.gif

Why are we thinking about Christmas right now? HHahhaha, I went into Target the other day and all the shelves were stocked with Christmas stuff - isn't it a bit early?

Less two months left. smile.gif Sometimes, the long time is too short to think about Christmas.

Edit: Just noticed that my sentence is a bit weird. :S I mean that when we have a month left, it isn´t that long. Usually it is very short and then we have no cool ideas. smile.gif

I don't have this problem, they are far away from me, I give them a call and that's it, my only problem is my wife, I never know what to get her, I don't have to worry about the rest, because she will take care of that, but giving my wife gifts is the hardest thing to do.

Buying stuff off the internet too near to Christmas is bad so I like to buy stuff now or at least think what I'm going to get people as 7 weeks or whatever it is will fly by.

OC I believe that your parents would appreciate some quality time spent together with you more than, let's say a toaster. Just tell your mum that this year she's not getting something that she can touch, instead you'll spend a day with her playing badminton, watching a movie and go to the pub.

Maybe something else for your dad, how about a GMC subscription? biggrin.gif

And for your granny... that's a really tough one. I can't really help you with that...

This year

some bread to put in the toaster?? biggrin.gif

Hmmm, my Mum is easy to buy for its my Dad thats difficult, every year he says "Dont waste your money, dont buy me anything" he genuinly means that too, but I couldnt and never have not bought him anything, the last two years I`ve bought him jumpers, nice ones not the tacky christmas things laugh.gif this year?? who knows laugh.gif

My wifes pretty easy to buy for as well, I usually go off to Bluewater (large shopping place) and have a wander around I usually end up finding more than what I set out for and spending too much on her, but hey, shes worth it smile.gif

get some nice dining plates for your mum, or nice wine glasses (if she drinks wine), and a nice tie/ring/belt for your dad.

A smörgåsgrill (or whatever it's in english, at least you understand swedish) always works! Same theme aswell laugh.gif

I always wait really long with buying mom and dad something, and I always end up paying my sister a lot of money and joining her with some gifts. I don't know for how long that will work though rolleyes.gif
