If i'm going to tune down a guitar with a fixed bridge, then i simply (after making sure the guitaris is correctly tuned to E) play the 6th fret on the A string, and tune the E string down until it "matches", then tune the remaining strings accordingly.

Try this method, it works for me! Easiest way I've found. If not, you will need to start at the low E and tune it a 1/2 step up so by the time you get to the high E, the tention will take care of it and get things close.|

Just wait til you change strings! Go with Elixers, more expensive but you will change them less..My opinion of course.

Cheers  Another option incase you're less keen on cutting in your guitar is to get a "Tremolno", has to be a Floyd Rose to fit. They doesn't fit Ibanez floating bridges but maybe there exist other ones for that. There's also an adjustable piece called "Tremsetter" that's there instead of a spring that will reset the tremolo to it's absolute original position. I havn't tested any of these, just know they exist, so I can't tell you how good and if they work. -------------------- My bands homepage
