I have 4 Electric Guitars:

Gibson Les Paul Special (faded black)

ESP Viper 400 (EMG 81/85)

Fender Strat 60th anniversary (MIM)

Dean Vendetta XM (pretty cool for $99)

I recently traded in my Gibson SG I have had since 1985 for the ESP.

The Les Paul and ESP absolutely SCREAM! smile.gif

I have a Gibson Explorer studio. It's the only guitar I've ever had. It's a dream to play it. I dont know much about gear and stuff, but man its so easy to play I just love it, and its small and VERY light. no whammy bar though sad.gif

when I started out I played on my dads 25year old american fender stratocaster(pink! laugh.gif) for a couple of months.

1) Gibson custom shop Les Paul 58 Reissue. The 58's are maple plain tops. This one has a one piece top, some of them do. I really like that.
2) Gibson Les Paul Studio Premium. Very nice looking AAA flame. Good guitar.
3) Gibson Mahogany Les Paul. Same pickups as my 58 Reissue. It just has a really unique and cool sound, I like it more and more.
4) Gibson Firebird V - They are just cool, everybody wants one, but most people don't have them. Unusual neck. This is a very very good shredding guitar, because the tone cuts though (small humbuckers) and good access to upper frets. Neck is heavy, but I like that.
5) Gibson SG Standard: Very pretty heritage cherry. Again, best fret access you can have, very light. I like the pickups, different sound than my other Gibsons.
6) Fender American Telecaster with one humbucker at the neck, single coil at the bridge.
7) Fender American Strat

also:

8) Martin D-35
9) Dobro

Will provide pictures later.

I play a Yamaha AES 720. I know what most people say "yamaha.. yeah whatever!" tongue.gif
But ever since i played this baby i just fell in love with it! I've played a lotta guitars including a less paul standard and this just seemed like an amazming axe compared to the price factor too!.
The solid body guitar has amazing tone. The 2 custom Dimarzio Pickups are also plain amazing! Real High gain too.

Anyone else used one?

fender american deluxe strat. i did have an ibanez prestige RG, but i traded it for the strat. I fully regret that now...... sad.gif

Can you tell me why u regret it ???
Because i was thinking exact the opposite ...I have an RG Prestige 2550 and i was thinking of a New American deluxe with the s-1 switch ....
Or at the end should i keep the Ibanez 2550 and buy one cheaper Fender Mexico statocaster HSS ??

i'm confused ... unsure.gif

A Gibson Solid Guitar is undoubtably a great guitar, but people often buy them just for the prestige of having it, even though it probably isn't the best guitar for them...

Sure they are damn pretty, but ther are so many 'better' guitars out there without the stupid mark-up for the Gibson name.

Guitarmaster - lovejimbolove made an extremely important point. The name on the headstock doesn't mean anything. Find a guitar that you love playing and that you won't have to Ebay your liver to afford, and practice your arse off on it. You won't regret your purchase and you'll wake up wanting to play. That's the way to go, if you ask me (not that you did). smile.gif

Oh...and in response to the actual topic of the thread, I play a Parker Fly Classic....they take a lot of heat for their looks, but IMHO it plays and sounds like a dream.

I've only been playing a short while but I have a couple of electric and an acoustic. I have a Peavey Raptor which was the first guitar I bought. I liked it because the strings where close to the frets and I found that helpful since my hands aren't that big, plus it was cheap. I then bought my acoustic a Garrison G20 which are made in St. John's NL. Not sure if many people are familier but its an awesome guitar. the bracing system in them is plastic, although with the newer higher end models they have gone back to natural wood bracing I believe. I wasn't to keen on the plastic bracing at first but after playing the G20, man it resinates forever. A bit of maintenance for where I live though as it's very dry. My new baby is a Gibson Les Paul Standard in black. It's probably more guitar than I need but I had a hard time staying motivated as no one I hang out with plays. I figured get a really good guitar and away you go. It worked well as now I'm practicing all the time. It was a toss up in the store between the Gibson and a Fender Strat but I just loved the sound of the Gibson!

I play a cheap, used, black Epiphone SG Special. Once I get better I want either a Dean (Razorback) or Jackson (Christian's custom).
